LG CUP FUTSAL FESTA 2002 in Japan

LG Electronics will sponsor the Futsal games in Japan that will be held for 4 months from January to April this year under the title of: LG Cup Futsal Festa 2002.

The Festa is organized by the Futsal Federation of Japan and sponsored by the Football Association of Japan and Asahi Newspaper, the official sponsor of the 2002 World Cup games, to further enhance the standing of the games. This is the only national level Futsal competition open to the public officially recognized by the Football Association of Japan and Futsal Federation of Japan.
By sponsoring the Futsal games in Japan, LG Electronics aims to promote the success of World Cup 2002 and enhancing its image as a Korean company supporting social sports activities in Japan. The sponsorship can also be leveraged in increasing trust of the LG brand.

What is Futsal?
- It is 5-person team football also called indoor football or mini football. It is played with similar rules as football in a 20m x 40m indoor or outdoor stadium.

- The popularity of Futsal is currently on the rise thanks to its quick pace and opportunity for the general public as anyone who is interested can participate. It has its own World Cup and Asian championship, and Japan has been organizing national-level games from 1996. Its worldwide popularity is even making Futsal a serious candidate to be an official game of the Olympics.
